Money is the root of all evil
One saying that ruined my financial health
I was brought up to believe that money is the root of all evil. Little did I know that it would be the root of all my poor financial decisions.
My mom used to say it every now and then and I grew to believe that it is. Before I knew it, I was resenting/rejecting money. I did not want anything to do with it. It was bad. Or is it?
The phrase “money is the root of all evil” is a commonly misquoted version of a biblical passage found in the New Testament of the Bible, specifically in 1 Timothy 6:10.
The actual verse states, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
Money is numbers and numbers never end. If it takes money to be happy, your search for happiness will never end. — Bob Marley
It has nothing to do with money
From that verse, it can be understood that it is the love of and obsession with money that can lead to unethical or immoral behaviours. In other words, obsessing over money or prioritizing it above all else, can be unhealthy.
As with obsessing over anything else really!
It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor. — Seneca
